It was an amazing time at RegiftTO this past Friday. We gave away prizes and opened gifts and enjoyed the company of amazing people.
We also raised $164 for Relief efforts for Red Cross for the people of Haiti. Thanks to all that participated. Hope to see you next year!

Hello to everyone, I’m Joallore better known as @clickflickca on Twitter. I’m one of the organizers for this unique event called the “Toronto Regift Tweetup”. Maurice (@morningmoe) Eric (@clickeric) and Crystal (@crystalgibson) and I had met up one day in December to brainstorm ideas for a Tweetup. Toronto is well regarded for numerous social events in the web community and we encourage everyone to continue to visit and learn from these various events Toronto has to offer. Our Tweetup is unique in that we don’t have speakers or sponsors for our event. We’ve been tweeting with many different people on Twitter and we wanted to take the relationships that are established online to real life experiences face to face. Maurice originated the concept of the “Regift” which is similar to the “Secret Santa” and “Yankee Swap”. We felt that the “regift” concept was a great idea to promote interaction, communication and excitement. The “gift” is the act of giving.
We’ve ask you all to bring a wrapped or covered unisex gift to exchange with a fellow Tweeter. Don’t be upset if you don’t get the PS3 or Sex and the City dvd set upon opening your gift. We actually don’t know what you will bring and the anticipation is what makes this exciting. So keep your expectations to a minimum and your enthusiasm high as this will definitely be a unique experience to share with fellow Tweeters. We are hoping that once you open your gifts that you continue to network and exchange ideas and stories in a fun way. You can still exchange gifts after opening too
We created a list of people attending so you can follow there tweets prior to the event. See post below for details.
We want you to leave the Tweetup with some new friendships/networks that can last a lifetime. That is the most valuable gift we hope you can appreciate on Friday night.
Spice Safar Lounge is located at 270 Adelaide St. West and the event begins at 7pm with the Regift portion to start at approx. 8pm. More info here Spice Safar. We have a broad range of Tech, Finance, Fashionistas, Geeks coming to this event so we leave it up to you to “Spice” up this event. The Dress Code for this event is Upscale Casual. Try to avoid runners and tshirts. Music will be played and prizes will be announced. In light of the recent tragedies in Haiti we’ve also setup a voluntary Donation Box which is optional for you as you enter the event. So we look forward to enjoying an evening of fun and debauchery. Unclutter, unwind and unwrap. See you all Friday night.
Here’s the list of other notable helpers for the event. Without there help this would not be possible:

Char (@Charlo1108)
Aldrich (@AFS_55)

Hey Everyone, it’s Crystal -
I cannot fathom living through anything as tumultuous as the 7.0 magnitude earthquake that rocked Haiti. Every news channel continues to horrify us with the images and video of the devastation and a statement from Elisabeth Debrosse Delatour (Haiti’s First Lady) confirms, “most of Port-au-Prince is destroyed”. Homes, hotels and hospitals have been destroyed, which means this country is in desperate need of some help.
Since we are all getting together this Friday, we thought that we’d extend the opportunity to donate to Red Cross and collectively send what we can to the people of Haiti. If you can contribute, there will be a Red Cross donation box at Spice Safar.
On a lighter note, there will be a super awesome contest happening during the event – with PRIZES! Hooray!
The only hint I’ll give is that you MUST have your Twitter game face on!
Oh! We’re also looking for a photographer for the evening; a student interested in developing clientele and networking. If you know someone or you are someone interested – send us an email info@tweetngreet.ca
See you Friday!!!

So this is probably a bit random but hey random can be fun so here is a little ditty that I decided to make. I know totally cheesy but who doesn’t love some every now and then.
Christmas is done
And it felt like it just begun
The light of day is short
As we find our way in this new court
Gifts were given and songs sun
Now the re-gift process has begun
So take a gander and take a look
Have some fun and a surprise at what you took
How to responsibly re-gift through the year – here By Alison Griffiths of the Metro, so how big is your re-gift pile?

Hey Everyone, I’m Crystal (@CrystalGibson) one of the many organizers for TweetnGreetca.
I hope everyone had a fantastic holiday and rang in the new decade in style.
The beginning of a new year brings the dreaded (yet almost unavoidable) ‘New Year’s Resolutions’. Luckily a few of mine tie in nicely with #RegiftTO.
Firstly, I need to DE-CLUTTER. I just recently moved into a condo, so I’m trying to get the hang of living in a much smaller space. Christmas left me with boxes, decorations and unwanted gifts that I need to deal with now. I promise my gift won’t be fruitcake or the fleece socks – I’ve got some good stuff to bring to the event!
Next, I want to meet as many new people as I possibly can. It’s so awesome communicating with everyone on a social media level – but I read a post by @Renee3 the other day where she said: ‘Just realized that I sent my entire holiday with peeps who aren’t on twitter. The kind that pick up the phone to get in touch. It was NICE!’ Ah! I didn’t know this kind of communication existed anymore but I wish it did…a lot more. So, I’m really excited to attend every awesome mixer there is and make some more friends!
So, I hope to see you all at Spice Safar on January 15th with your wicked awesome gift.
Love, C xo
